It's Time for Baby Coach Training at Children's Nurturing Project!
August 3, 2011
Children's Nurturing Project (CNP) will be starting the new Baby Coach training at Children's Nurturing Project located at 490 Chadbourne Road, Suite A, in Fairfield, CA. Baby Coaches provide support to new moms and moms-to-be through pregnancy, delivery and caring for their infants.
Baby Coaches who sign up to volunteer are required to participate in 40 hours of training in topics such as labor and delivery, child abuse, domestic violence, infant development and breast feeding. Expectant mothers are then matched with a trained Baby Coach volunteer to create a healthy and nurturing experience for new moms and moms-to-be.
Jessica Knutson, Program Coordinator said, "This is a great opportunity for people to give back to their communities and help expectant mothers receive support, guidance, and education that will help us build a community of healthier children. CNP is also planning to extend this program into Napa and Yolo communities in the near future, so the more volunteers, the greater outreach we can achieve."
We are looking for both English and Spanish speaking volunteers. If you would like to help a young woman become the confident mother she can be, please join us for this orientation.
For more information about this training, please contact Jessica Knutson at jknutson@cnpkids.org, or call (707) 422-0464, ext. 16.
